December 14th marked our first event for this season: Wreck the Halls Scrimmage! Players from Rated PG as well as Gold Pain City were split up onto two teams for the ultimate Christmas showdown! Team Naughty wore red while Team Nice sported green! Santa would be proud to find out that Team Nice took home the win, but I'm sure Team Naughty is already scheming for next year!

Thank you to everyone who came out to support us in our first event of the season! The turnout was unbelievable! Thanks to the Referees from Rated PG and Gold Pain for helping out, to the Spruce City Rollerbrats for helping out as NSOs, and to all the players who came from near and far for making this event a success! Check out some more photos below from Rated PG's official photographer Herb Martin as well as a few from our fans!

PG Free Press Sports Page

The PG Free Press has us on the cover of their sports page this week! Be sure to get a copy for your scrapbook! Day of Derby was just the start for us this season. We will fight it out on the track to see who wins between Naughty (red) and Nice (green) this Christmas season. Prepare yourselves for hard hits, speedy skaters, and Christmas puns like you wouldn't believe!

Day of Derby

On November 29, 2014, history was made. The NWO Roller Girls hosted the first ever Day of Derby event in conjunction with RBC Sports Day in Canada. The Rated PG Rollergirls took the chance to make a trip down south and play with teams and players from all over British Columbia! There were adult, co-ed, and junior bouts and scrimmages all day on two different tracks! Rated PG gave it their all in four exhausting mini-games (not to mention those who played in the mixed scrimmages) and came away not only with a few new bruises, but also learning experiences, some new moves to try out, and an affirmed love for our sport! I don't even know how many games our Rated PG Referees officiated, but they were on their skates all day! Thanks to Roxie Shocker for skating with us throughout, you were an inspiration to us all! And congratulations to Pandamonia for winning "The Quiet Hero" award!

More pictures after the jump!

Try-it Night!

When I first saw Rated PG play in 2013 I immediately thought to myself, "I want to do that! How can I do that?! I wonder if I could actually do that...?" As it turns out, I can totally do that, and you can too!

If you've every caught yourself wondering the same thing but weren't sure really what Roller Derby would have in store for you, you're in luck! We are hosting a FREE Try-It Night! Come down to the Prince George Roll-A-Dome on September 22 from 6pm-8pm. Bring a helmet of any kind, strap on a pair of Roll-A-Dome vintage skates (or bring your own quad skates if you have them), and learn a few skating basics with the Roller Girls! We will answer any questions you might have about derby and will probably all geek-out a little over how much we love this sport and how much we love sharing it with others!

Our 10-week Fresh Meat Program will be every Monday starting on September 29, so stay tuned for more info!

Without further ado, join the Facebook event, invite your friends, and drop on by! See you on the track!

ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Rated PG was recently nominated for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge by Vista Radio's News Director Jonathon Brown. What else could we do but empty our pockets, gear up, and head to the Dome?! And of course, to pay the nomination forward to our friends and fellow northern derby team, Gold Pain City!

Thanks for watching and don't forget to donate to www.als.ca or www.alsa.org

Prince George Summerfest, 2014

Sunday, August 17th proved to be a gorgeous day in Prince George and a perfect on for Summerfest! It was hot, crowded, and oh so much fun! Delicious local food, musicians, magicians, and more, including your very own Rated PG Rollergirls!

If you missed our demonstration on the dos and don'ts of Roller Derby, don't worry! We will be having a Try-It night coming up on September 22. Strap on a pair of skates at the Roll-a-Dome and see what you think! Rated PG will be there to help you with skating, answer any questions about the sport and our teams, and show you what roller derby is really about! We will have information about the upcoming Fresh Meat program (not as scary as it sounds) that will help you learn the skills you need to play derby!

We also have all new merch that will be available throughout our 2015 season. Get yourself some orange and grey, rest up those vocal chords, and get ready to cheer on Rated PG next season!

And of course, Nanguz the fox was walking around! How could we not grab a photo?!

To top off our amazing day in downtown Prince George, we even had a private mini magic show!

Orange Team Wins Against Grande Prairie in Final Bout of the Season!

Rated PG's Orange Team headed up and over to Grande Prairie for our their last bout of the 2014 season on June 28, and what a bout it was! Thanks to Grande Prairie's Rage 'N' Fyre for being such amazing hosts and putting on an amazing bout and after party! Thanks to Coach Lime for coming up to help us and to Coach Loki for all the hard work and time you've put in this season. We couldn't have done it without you! Thanks to the referees who travelled with us from Prince George and to those from Grande Prairie for making this game happen! And a special thanks to Jamie Blackwell for filming and livestreaming the game so families, friends, and teammates back home could watch! After the jump are some screenshots of the action!

Grey Team Wins Against TCDD Wreckers!

Rated PG's Grey Team travelled to Kamloops this past weekend to play in a double header at MacArthur Island Park! After spending the day exploring the beautiful Riverside Park, we geared up and got ready to play!

The first bout of the double header between Kamloops' Deadlies and Vancouver's Riot Cats (a mixed team of The Riot Girls and The Faster Pussycats) was a sight to see! There were many rookies on the mixed team and they played their hearts out with a high scoring final jam for the Riot Cats, the Deadlies killed it with a final score of 278-89!

Up next came the Rated PG Grey Team and Kamloops' Wreckers! Both teams had tough walls, fast jammers, and hard hitters! It was great to see some friendly faces and bright orange in the crowd! Thanks to the families and Orange Team members who came out in support (and to Mother Tucker for all the pictures)! After 2 halves that seemed to go by in a heartbeat, Rated PG came out on top with score of 225 to 106!

As anyone who has ever attended a derby bout knows, that final whistle does not mean the fun is over! The after party at the upstairs lounge of the arena was bumping! It's amazing how 90s tunes can get any one on the dance floor! In true Prince George fashion, Rated PG closed the place down!

Thanks again to the Tournament City Derby Dolls for being such fantastic hosts!

Alfredo's Pub Night with Rated PG!

On June 14, 2014 the Rated PG Rollergirls went to one of the best parties of the season! Thank you to everyone who came out to Alfredo's for our dinner/karaoke pub night! The food was delicious, the staff was friendly, the silent auction prizes were delightful, and the karaoke was...well, the karaoke was nothing short of amazing! See for yourself!

Thanks to Alfredo's staff and regulars for letting us take over the best karaoke spot in town for an evening! Thanks to everyone who came out and supported Rated PG with raising funds for our team!

The Grey Team is travelling to Kamloops to play the TCDD Wrecker's on June 21 and the Orange Team is heading out to Grande Prairie to play Rage 'N' Fyre on June 28. Your generous donations will help us with our travel costs and accommodation while representing Prince George in other cities. Thank you again!

Car Wash Success!

The Rated PG Rollergirls would like to send out a huge thank you to Prince George! Your support came out in full force this weekend when we hosted our first car wash of the year at the Superstore Gas Bar! Thank you to everyone who came out to get your vehicle washed, who donated out of the kindness of their your, and to that one lady who didn't have time to get her car washed but donated anyway! Thank you to those who brought us snacks, water, and United Rentals gave us hats! You are all amazing! Our team is a not-for-profit organization and your donations have made it possible for us to finish out our season with two away games in Kamloops and Grande Prairie!

Our next fundraiser is a pub night at Alfredo's this Saturday! $20 gets you a Roast Beef or Veggie Quesedilla dinner, karaoke, silent auction, and a fun night out with your local Roller Girls! Hope to see you there!

Monster Trucks!

Monster Trucks came to the CN Centre in Prince George last Saturday and your Rated PG Rollergirls couldn't wait to go and see the action! Getting smashed in a bout is fun, but sometimes you want to see other things get smashed...like cars...by monstrous wheels!

Thank you so much to everyone who supported Rated PG with our 50/50 tickets and congratulations to our two winners!

We Miss Derby!

Do you miss watching derby as much as we miss playing it? Check out some highlights from our last game against the Killbillies, put together by the wonderful Dan Tisseur! That butt-punch must have hurt!

If you're in the Kamloops area on June 21, be sure to come see Rated PG's Grey team take on the Wreckers!

Last Chance for Derby - May 10th.

Remember this?  (hint: check out the score)

Last year, the Fort St. John Killbillies and Rated PG kept crowds at the edge of their seats as they went into DOUBLE overtime.  RPG squeaked out a win.  Can we do it again?

This is not a bout to be missed.  If you do miss it, not only will you be missing an exciting bout, but you will also have to wait until next winter for more derby.  That's right, this is Rated PG's last home bout of the season.

Come out. Wear orange. And be prepared to be on the edge of your seat all night long!!

Doors open at 6 PM.  First whistle at 7 PM.  Tickets are $10 at the door.

North Coast Nightmares Win!

April 19th, 2014 was a wonderful day for derby! Right in the middle of a long weekend, fans from all over the north came to cheer on Rated PG's Grey team and the North Coast Nightmares from Terrace. There were signs, there were cheers, and there were more than a few beers!

Rated PG would like to thank all of our Referees, Non-Skating Officials, volunteers, and fans for taking the time out of the weekend and for making this event something special! Thanks to the North Coast Nightmares for making the trek all the way to Prince George and for playing a stand-up-in-your-seats exciting game of derby with us! The Nightmares came out the victor at the end of the night with a score of 171 - 128! Both teams were all smiles at the end of the night, and we hope the fans were too!

Official Rated PG Photographer Herb Martin has worked his magic again. See below for some highlights of the game and don't forget to check out his website for more photos of this bout and many more!
