Whoa! 3rd SK8FEST a HUGE success.

Wow, now THAT was a fun game!
This year's Sk8FEST was undoubtedly the best skating and reffing that we've ever seen at this annual event. If you were lucky enough to be part of the 400+ crowd then you know how great it was. The hits! The plays! The fishnets?!
Announcers Gypsy and Tea Cups kept up on the edges of our seats all night long. Last night we were glad to see our favourite RPGRG Rollergirls team up with skaters from Williams Lake, Quesnel, Dawson Creek, Grande Prairie, Fort St. John, and Terrace. It's great to see the amount of derby skill in this area!
Here's the recap: The scrimmage got underway with white team taking an easy early lead. The black team soon shook off their early game nerves and got down to business by steadily closing the point gap until finally surpassing the white team. Their lead would be brief as both teams battled hard at even points right until the end. It was a great derby night.
Our 50/50 draw was a success too, the payout was a whopping $310!
In the SK8FEST tradition, many skaters play this game as their first. This year's rookie of the game was Rated PG's own hard-core hockey gal Hippie Checkinya who  played
the best first bout ever seen! Way to go Hippie we're glad to have you around.

Thanks to all the volunteers, the fans, sponsors, skaters, Non-skating officials, and referees.
I love this sport! Woop, YEA RPG!
If you took photos of the bout, post them to our Fb page cause we wanna see 'em!
Videos can be put on Youtube, then linked to Fb or uploaded directly.
Or you can email (your favourite) one to:
ratedpgrollergirls@hotmail.com (ATT: Miss Brown Smackdown)
We'll be giving away a pair of tickets for the next game to the photographer
of the best shot or best video.

It's November and in Northern B.C. that means that it's time for SK8FEST!
Tickets are available from Handsome Cabin Boy Tattoo, Books & Co., and from your favourite Rated PG RollerGirl or Referee.
See you on Saturday!

Thanks to all the work from our league, we pulled off our first double header here in P.G. That itself is a huge success, we did it! Unfortunately for the Rated PG Rollergirls, neither team won their games but we had a great time. We all saw some pretty good derby in action!
Final scores of the evening:
Candy Strykers 184-49 over the Gold Pain/RPGRG Rollergirls
Raggedy Rollers 194-76 over the Rate PG Roller Girls
Thanks to the travelling teams, refs, and coaches from OSRDA and TCRG. We are glad you braved the snow storm to come north for the game, it couldn't have been a comfy ride in that huge yellow bus!

Thanks also to all the great photographers in the crowd, there are some great shots our there.
