Dec. 4 RockaBilly Fundraiser!!

RollerGirls will be selling tickets to the Friday Dec. 4 Cousin Harley show.
Cousin Harley is western Canada's premier Rockabilly and roots band - great for dancing!
Tickets are $25, of which, $5/ticket sold will be donated to the league from the promoter, Zazoot entertainment.

Boot Camp A Success!!

11 spank-tacular ladies came out to skate at our first ever Fresh Meat Boot Camp on saturday. Led by the most excellent veteran derby girls including Sweet & Loaded, Loki, Siren Swift, Ms. Eerie and others, the FM learned many new skills, worked up a sweat, and had an overall fun time.
The new recruits were lookin good......we hope to see them all again on Thursday.......
Yes Fresh Meat practices are still happening - every Thursday @ 7pm at the Dome.

Fresh Meat Boot Camp

Wanna try rollerderby?

Come to a half day boot camp to learn the basics.

This is meant to be an introduction - no previous experience necessary- now's your chance!!

Roller Derby is Here to Stay!!!!

We now have a Permanent Track at the roller dome!!
Thanks to Papa Wheelie, RocketMan, and the Dolls for staying late after Oct. 8 League practice to paint the lines! No more pylons to trip on..........and no more excuses for cutting the track.

Join Roller Derby!!

We're looking for ladies aged 19 and older to come skate with us!

Fresh Meat** practices will run every Thursday @ 7-8pm starting October 1st at the rollerdome.

The rollerdome is located at the intersection of hiways 16 and 97 (across from Mr. PG); use the road to the playhouse/curling & gold club to access.

Cost is $20 for your annual membership to the Rated PG RollerGirls Society (pay this once yearly) plus $5/practice (this includes your skate rental)

Gear required: Helmet, mouthguard, knee, elbow and wrist guards. Check thrift stores for used gear. Rolleskates are avilable at the rollerdome - and rental is included in your weekly $5 practice fee.

These practices are meant to allow women to learn the fundamentals of rollerskating and roller derby, meet people, have fun, and get some excercise, with the goal of having participants drafted to a team later in the season. Our league policy is to have closed practices, so there will be no lookee-loos or creepers.

Roller Derby Brat Camp! For Girls Ages 12-18

Join us over four days for the 1st ever Roller Derby Brat Camp for Girls! Sponsored by the Family YMCA of Prince George and Youth Around Prince, Brat Camp 2009 will create space for booty blocking, loud voices, and fast skating in GRRRL sport!

Camp is for girls aged 12-18! Registration starts August 10th at the Family YMCA of Prince George (2020 Massey). You must register in person to get a registration package!!

The camp is free and includes skates, helmets, a t-shirt, mouth guards and FOOD/Snacks! You'll learn how to skate and how to play roller derby. You'll get to pick your own derby name, create a persona, and be on a team (lemons vs. limes).

All participants NEED their own protective gear: elbow pads, knee pads, wrist guards. These can be picked up cheap at any sports store, thrift store, or canadian tire. If you can't get your own gear please email us at and we'll work to get some for you.

The Rated PG RollerGirls Society will be having its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday, September 15th 2009. We have set a tentative time of 7pm, and the location is still to be determined, but we will keep you up to date.

At this meeting ALL 6 positions on the Board will be up for election. If you would like a Nominaton/Application form please email the society at

You need:
-$20 for a membership
-$5 drop in fee (covers skate rental)
-photo i.d. stating you're 19 years or older
-protective gear (elbow pads, knee pads, wrist guards, mouth guard, helmet). this gear can be borrowed. if you don't have everything right away, no sweat, but you won't be able to participate in all the drills. you HAVE to have gear once you've come to 2 practices.
